<reviewbody>It's the story of true love and giant lobsters. How could you not love it? I first saw this in color (yes, someone has made a colorized version) on "So Bad It's Good Theater" late one Saturday night and fell in love with it almost immediately. What really sold me on the movie is that the monster is a lobster. It really is so classically bad that it's good. If you enjoy low budget, poorly acted, campy sci-fi, I think you'll love this film.</reviewbody>

<reviewbody>This is a fairly fun/goofy B-movie. It's not among my very favorites of the cheesy movie genre, but the acting is fair, there is a plot of sorts, and the alien lobster monster is great! Plus, the good-guy alien teenager is dreamy. Fun way to spend a Sunday afternoon.</reviewbody>

<reviewbody>...Ah, my absolute favorite sci-fi Bmovie. This film is a lot of fun in it's own right, not just for the camp value (though there is a whole lot of cheese involved). The hero's good natured innocence is disarming, and the unexpected violence alarming. Completely action packed, "Teenagers" isn't boring for a minute.

And of course, the monster is classic. 5 stars from me.</reviewbody>

<reviewbody>So bad it's good! It's cheesy, silly and stupid, But in the best way possible. Actually, the plot is quite decent, the ending is clever. While there were plenty of good Sci-Fi movies back in the 50's, It's the bad ones I love the most. Plus, it's never boring, and overall it's great way to relax. Cheese at it's finest!</reviewbody>

<reviewbody>I first saw this with my 21-year-old son, who shares my love of schlocky B-movies. Yes, the acting and special effects are pretty bad, but we both found ourselves caught up in the spirit of the storyline.

Our verdict? "Teenagers from Outer Space" has a nice little movie inside it, trying desperately to get out. In a way, it's like many of Ed Wood's movies -- loaded with good intentions, but the filmmaker just doesn't have the chops (or budget) to pull it off.

Perhaps if more people had been involved in it (Tom Graeff, according to IMDB, handled acting/writing/directing/editing/cinematography duties, was involved in the "special" FX and music coordination, and produced the whole thing), it might have turned out better.

Nevertheless, TFOS gets five stars, simply because it's so damn entertaining!</reviewbody>

<reviewbody>Its one of those bad movies that offer enough silly stuff to keep the viewer around. And the ending is completely ridiculous, so it's something worth waiting for.

The father is one easy-going dude I gotta say. Paraphrasing: 'Oh you can't say who you are, or where you are from? And you are talking in monotone and wearing clothes like the band DEVO? Hey, rent a room in our house ok! Oh here's my daughter, how about taking her out. Now I'll take another nap.'

The nasty alien is played deliciously over the top, while the good alien is played catatonically .. so there's some real contrast in playing aliens awaiting your attention.</reviewbody>

<reviewbody>I think this movie is a pretty nice example of the genre. "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" used the scene at the gas station for their "film dub" game.</reviewbody>

This is definitely a must see.

(5)***** for the complete kitsch, of the official air force surplus flyer's helmet and air mask;
(5) ***** for the over-the-top evil alien, and yes, monotonic good-guy.
(4)**** for the far-too-trusting grampa, who just lets anyone in to take a room...I mean, even back then, they still asked for references.
(5)***** for the setting, and them spending as absolutely minimally as they could on sets and props.
(5)***** overall.</reviewbody>

<reviewbody>I am a buff of 1950s sci fi films. Unfortunately, in this day and age, they all get lumped together as if one sample represents all of them. The 1950s films are are being judged by contemporary generations with a set of standards that are irrelevant to any film regardless of time and genre but standards that do reflect the fashions of today.
Having said that, this film just plain stinks. The story plot line is amorphous, the acting cardboard and the direction cruddy.</reviewbody>
