68_Vintage_Fairlight_VJ_Loops_by_VJzoo Kat Black and Jasper Cook movies vj_loops 68 VJ loops for your use released under BSD type license. These video clips can be used in any VJ program to add an old-skool analogue flavour to your set, or if you're desperate for VJ-formatted content to play with when learning to VJ. The size of the clips are 640x480 in two options - Quicktime/PhotoJPEG (Mac/PC but larger files) or avi/Indeo5.2 (PC only - marked as Windows Media here as there's no option for avi/Indeo - codec should be already installed in Windows). Keyframed every frame. We will upload smaller format (320x240) separately. The clips are also contained in a .rar file if you would like them all in an easy to download package (must use FTP for that). Since they're all pretty abstract, there's not much to describe, so no 'shotlist' here. There are NOT for everybody's taste - they are messy, grungy and grainy loops harvested from "Vintage AV Plug n Play" sessions using equipment from the 1980's and 1990's such as Fairlight Computer Video Instruments (CVIs), the Panasonic WJ-AVE7 and feedback from an analogue Panasonic video camera on a Commodore monitor. The Fairlight CVI was developed in Australia in 1984 and was used by early live-AV artists such as Severed Heads. We don't expect many VJs will find these terribly appealing, but some of you might appreciate their old-skool charm for that 80's Electro look - or they could be useful just as textures and underlayers. We have tried to edit out the worst strobing, but given the nature and unpredictability of such equipment, there is a certain amount of flickering - so epileptics beware, and test each one before you use it in public. If you ever find yourself thinking 'Yawn, my sets have got so slick and perfect. I'm just TOO good' - then these could be the antidote you're after. A couple of these thrown in a set and you'll have people convinced your fancy hi-tech VJ equipment is malfunctioning. If that's not what you're after, then save your bandwidth and don't bother downloading these.
